BEST SALSA IN THE WEST. period.

Great Mexican Food! Number One in Tucson!

The best in Tucson. We live in Vancouver and will eat there when in T Town.

I've been eating at Rosa's since they were on Speedway. Our whole family eats here on a regular basis. I now live in Seattle, but eat here almost everyday while visiting.

My favorite Mexican restaurant to date. Their limeade is delicious, but their horchata is adequate. To be frank, I've only ever had their bean burrito enchilada style and since I first tried it, it's the only thing I order from here. Their refried beans are to die for. Best beans in any restaurant in Tucson, none of that bland taste so many Mexican restaurants serve. I went here with my boyfriend and he ordered a carne asada burrito, ortega style, and he said it was the best burrito he had ever. The meat was juicy and flavorful. I don't know how their other food tastes, but their burritos are worth every penny.

This is my favorite place to go eat in Tucson. It has the best food in town with steak. I've came here for the first time last year and then I had to go back again with my brother who came into town because it's so good, my boyfriends even planning to come here to have dinner for his birthday this Friday! I highly recommend you come try this place out if you love Mexican food. It may be a little hidden, but it's totally worth looking for in the end.

i read yelp to see what people LIKE, (not to complain about how impersonal the service has become, but it's def. not like the old days with certain family there working, THAT I miss!)

so i'll tell you I crave their ENCHILADA SAUCE on anything and can't get enough of the garlicky SALSA. i like the house marg on the rocks with salt.

I enjoy trying Mexican food in different cities you can taste the subtle differences and Rosa's was not a disappointment. The salsa was amazing. Good heat amazing flavor and you can taste the freshness if that's a word. The guacamole was guacamole nothing spectacular, nothing disappointing. Now to the main dish got the Rosa's special chili relleno with 3 tacos. The relleno was one of the best I've had. Real egg batter and cooked to perfection. There was no heat but the flavor compensate for that. The tacos were awesome so simple that it was like eating a home taco. This is just me talking but a hint of raw onion would be a nice addition of flavor. I probably should've asked. By the time I finished all that I was too full to ask for any desserts. So that a huge plus. If I have one thing was when I checked in and got a coupon from yelp they told me they don't honor the coupon. Which is ok because I still enjoyed my food and atmosphere. I'll be back next time I'm I tucson just without a coupon.

The place is jammed to the gills with people eating and waiting for a table.
Chips and Salsa were very good with plenty of bite.
The atmosphere was festive with many families enjoying themselves.
Placed in the corner next to the kitchen allowed me to watch the interaction between the wait staff and kitchen staff.
Orders going in and out. Everything hot!
Service was a bit slow not to be expected considering the large cheerful crowd.
The busboy-as he called himself, showed with the chips and salsa taking our margarita order. It, the margarita, was ok.
Waiter showed, apologized, took our order and never saw him again.
    Busboy served us.
Food outstanding in presentation and quantity.
Busboy brought the check and we paid.
Very good food, the Fajitas, and fun watching the kitchen slam out orders.
Will good back again and again.

We came in from out of town and found this great restaurant. We were very impressed with the staff they were attentive and quick. The food was great simple and well done. The shredded beef tacos were moist and what you'd hope for in Tucson. We can't wait to come back again next time we're in town.

I've lived in Tucson on and off, (mostly on), since 1987. Rosa's is one of the first Mexican restaurants I was introduced to. There have been many others that 'were' good but faltered or closed at some point. Rosa's quality on the other hand if anything has improved. Unfortunately there prices have become a bit pricey, my only gripe here. That being said, I personally believe Rosa's salsa to continually be the "best in town".

  • *****

Oh Rosas! What can I say that would define the deliciouness that is you! You embody flavor and stay true no matter who the audience is! The food here is amazing!! Time after time, they do not make things bland ever. The salsa is spicy and packed with garlic which I love, the chips are always fresh and perfectly salted. I always get my favorite dish when I am here 3 shredded beef enchiladas in traditional red enchilada sauce the beef is always tender and never fatty all wrapped up in a corn tortilla and covered with a generous helping of cheese and sauce! The rice and beans are perfection espcially when I combine them! Heaven in my mouth!! The margaritas are not too sweet which I looovvveee
. Service is a bit shotty unless Angel is waiting on you he is attentive, professional, funny and great with guests. If you haven't been here get here now! Drop what your doing and come eat!!!

Love their green corn tamales, even out of season. Garlicky salsa but good.

Service was surly and the waitress was really a wet blanket. Guess we were an inconvenience to her on an early (4:30) evening mid week. Best when they are busy but mid afternoon this place was a drag. Prices had no discount though so I expect full attention and a good attitude.

Long a favorite but they are on thin ice. If next visit isn't more pleasant we will look for a new favorite.

    Went back to try again.
    Ho hum.
    Service indifferent.
Salsa today was so so so filled with raw garlic and chili powder that I chose not to eat it. Sometimes it has been really good.
    Rice dry and tasteless.

Don't like inconsistency with my restaurants. I can stay home and get that.

    Back again.
Still the best green corn tamales in town. Authentic food, fairly priced and lively atmosphere filled with happy eaters. Yum
    Good service this time too.

Consistently the best Mexican food in Tucson.

    And that says a lot.

  • *****

The food was amazing, the service was warm, and as someone from outside of Tucson, it felt like a warm community of regulars. We were there with friends who ended up spotting a table of people that had also eaten there the night before! Amazing. Not to mention that the enchiladas were to die for.

I would honestly, freely, seriously give them 20 STARS! Yes, it is THAT Good! We have been there many times. It is one of the BEST places in the world. We have been to Paris, London, Rome, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, nyc, etc etc. we love to travel. In fact, we found Rosas on a long drive from Houston to L.A. we had car trouble, a blow out on out Porsche 911. We were stuck in a Tucson for days, while we waited for a wheel coming from Chicago. We stayed in the old quaint Lodge on the Desert and discovered Rosas. Now we go out of our way to stay in Tucson! The food at Rosas is so good! It made us forget all about our troubles. We had never heard of carne seca and cheese crisps! Out of this world. Now we are planning a trip from Austin to Tucson! Authentic Mexican food!

  • *****

This is my favorite Mexican food is Tucson. I've been coming here for 16 years and cant get enough. We live in Vail, AZ now but make it a point to come once a month. All the food is fabulous but we recommend you bring a quart jug and take some home with you! It's a bit of Mexican food heaven hidden on Ft Lowell!

  • *****

Our family has been coming to this restaurant for years. We love pretty much everything about the place. From the colorful murals on the walls to the excellent combo plates and specialty Mexican dishes, we're hopelessly hooked on Rosa's! The prices are very reasonable.

I can't point out any dish that's better than another as they are all authentic and excellent, so it's mainly a matter of your personal preference. I like tacos and theirs are legit. I love rice and beans and theirs are great. Same with their tamales, burritos, and everything else.

But the best menu on the item? The one that I've spent most of my life since being married and moving away, trying to find someplace else???? The one I've tried to make at home???? The cheese crisp. I'm sure you're thinking...cheese crisp????? What can be so special about a tortilla with some melted cheese on top? Everything, my friends, everything. These cheese crisps on flaky, buttery tortillas are absolutely the best appetizer ever. I could probably eat a whole one by myself, they're that addicting and good.

Come enjoy the friendly and fun atmosphere of this place and the excellent Mexican food...and don't leave without ordering a cheese crisp!

  • *****

One of Tucson's favorite local Mexican food spots...Top 5 salsa in town that's been consistent for my 26 years of living in Tucson. I could seriously eat their salsa on the daily. The service is straight to the point but attentive. Could use a few more smiles but overall the experience is always satisfying!

  • *****

Love this place ! It is comfort Mexican food. Consistently good. There's no bar to sit at but, you can order drinks like cold beer or margaritas at your table . It's the type of relaxed restaurant where we've even had small conversations with other tables. A landmark for Tucson.

  • *****

This place is legit! When I'm in the mood for Mexican food, I usually want to eat an entire restaurant...Rosa's combo plates allow me to do just that! I am able to have a taste of all my favorites - the chile relleno/cheese enchilada/shredded beef taco is my fave! There is also a 3-enchilada plate with cheese, sour cream and green chile enchiladas that are bomb! The meal starts with hot chips and fresh salsa, which is usually not that spicy but tends to run strong on the garlic. The busy-ness of the place is hit and miss - I've been there on a weeknight when I was the only one there, and the same day the following week (yes, I have a problem) when it was packed! The green red chili chimi is also amazing. Try it - you will not be disappointed!

  • *****

I'm new to Tucson and from LA, where there's the best Mexican food, (and friends who cook amazing authentic food). Rosa's is the best and ONLY Mexica restaurant that I love, where the food is authentic and delicious. Also, the beans are sooo good; and I love dipping the fresh corn chips in them, as well as the delish salsa. I have been disappointed at all the other Mexican restaurants and they always seem to lack something, as well having inconsistent food.

  • *****

Just what I want in a Mexican restaurant. Great atmosphere, friendly service and super food. Found Rosa's by accident and would happily go back to sample more of the menu.

  • *****

Just ate here with a friend for the first time. Chips and salsa were good. We both had house margaritas and chile rellenos platters (#9) and agreed they were quite good. Service was solid. We are on a quest to find the best rellenos in Tucson. Suggestions are welcome.

  • *****

Now this place is great mexican food!!! Went in for the first time today and gotta be honest, they were slow!!! Took a solid 5 minutes to get us water and we didn't order until about 15 minutes in because our waitress was just MIA. But in the end, the food was well worth the wait (like 10-15 minutes) and it was yummy!! Tasted like good ole authentic mexican food. I definitely recommend coming here for some good mexican food but just be cautious of the slow service!

  • *****

I went to Rosas on a weeknight date and the finding area was packed! There was a table for two available immediately, it was right beside the register but I didn't mind too much. The tables are made of authentic tile and the ambiance is warm and homey.

Our orders were taken quickly and we were given salsa and chips while we waited for our main course. The salsa was a little hot, not unbearable by my standards but my date asked for a mild salsa and we were brought a tomato product that we mixed in to our liking.

I order the three beans enchiladas plate and it was delicious. The entire plate was coated with cheese and the rice had a lovely rich texture. I ate the leftovers before the night was over, it was so savory and warming.

The staff is predominately Spanish speaking so if you know the language you will fit right in. I don't but made out just fine. The prices were reasonable and well worth the homestyle Mexican meal.

  • *****

Great food. Place was packed for lunch which is always a good sign. Had a cheese and shredded beef enchiladas with rice. Salsa was amazing. Will definitely go again.

  • *****

Love love love their chips and salsa! The rest of the food was great as well!! Would definitely make a return trip! We had great service as well!

  • *****

We eat here often. The food is very good, the service is fast and courteous. The staff is friendly. Make sure you try the green corn tamales. Mmmm

  • *****

I've heard a number of things about Rosa's from a few friends and finally got a chance to try it after I told a friend that I was craving cheesy enchiladas, haha. I thought the cheese enchiladas here were really tasty--that just crispy texture to the cheese and the portions were super generous. The chips and salsa were also really good. Recommend!

  • *****

One of my favorite Mexican places to go to here in Tucson. I was in the mood for soup today and immediately thought of the Cazuela soup at Rosa's. The soup had a flavorful broth and I was very happy that the waitress could provide me with a bowl without any potatoes in it, since I'm on a low-carb diet. The soup had plenty of shredded beef, onions, and chillies! Ordered a side salad which usually has cheese on it. The food was good and filling. The staff was not as attentive as usual. But a good lunch overall. We often enjoy other options here I specially like their tostada. And my husband loves their enchiladas.

  • *****

Ordered take out. We ordered beef flautes, carne seca tacos, and menudo. The flautes come 2 to an order with sour cream and guacamole. I always order the carne seca tacos, they come 3 to an order and deep fried. They are my favorite. The menudo is expensive for a 32 oz container $10 and it comes with onions, cilantro, limes and bread or tortilla. Best to call in your take out because it takes a while, 25-30 minute wait. The food was good but they forgot the salsa, it's very good with lots of garlic. So double check your order.

  • *****

A hidden little gem in the heart of Tucson. Have been coming here for at least 9 years. Taste is exceptional, portions are ample and the prices reasonable. Their table salsa and margaritas are probably my favorite in Tucson. Forgot to take a before picture, but as you can see I wolfed it down.

  • *****

Rosa's serves the best Mexican food I've had. Their crisp with the works, including lots of carne seca, is crazy good. We've had several items on their menu, and the food is always excellent and served quickly and courteously. We recommend this place to everyone who goes to Tucson and wants authentic Mexican food.

    Make good food

Some of the best Food in Tucson! Carne Asada awesome

  • *****

good nexican food. I usually get taco all-a-cart. very good drinks as well. service can be hit or miss.

  • *****

Best refried beans ever! Great tacos, salsa and guacamole! Good price for a really good meal! Can't wait to go back!!

  • *****

Some of the best Mexican food in Tucson! Love the cheese enchiladas and their chicken tacos are so good! The Food is exceptional. Family owned business.

  • *****

Oh my gosh! This food was terrific! Was impressed by pictures on website, so decided to drive to Tucson from our home in Gilbert. My wife and I are AZ natives and love good Mexican food. We have eaten at numerous good restaurants, and Rosa's is the best we have eaten in a long time. I had "George's Special, which consisted of a chicken enchilada, chili relleno, tostada, and rice and beans. My wife had the number 14 plate, which was a chili relleno, Shredded beef taco, with rice and beans. We were so impressed that we got an order to go for our son and his wife in Mesa.
The flavor of the enchilada and relleno were outstanding, with just the right amount of spice. The people were so friendly, and the owner took time to visit with us. It has been a long time since we enjoyed real authentic Mexican food! Loved it so much!!!
Our son just called us, and said ditto to all we said!

  • *****

We judge a Mexican Restaurant by its salsa and Rosa's is spicy and pairs perfectly with fresh chips. Had the bean tostada and a taste of a very cheesy enchilada. Both were delicious. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food. Service was adequate. We always enjoy eating Mexican food with traditional Mexican music.

  • *****

We have been coming here for year's and this place is always excellent. The food is great and the service is fast and friendly. They have avocado enchiladas that are out of this world and their salsa is so good you can't stop eating it. This is a must try place for great Mexican food!

  • *****

It was a really good chili relllenos (sp?). The beans were really good. The service was fast. I think they are a little overpriced and certainly 3.50 for a soda is absolutely rediculouse. Water please.

  • *****

I go here at least once every time I am in Tucson. Rosa's serves the fine Sonoran style of Mexican cuisine that can be difficult to find, even in Phoenix. I now live in the Seattle area and the only time I get food like this is when I make my own. It was better than I remembered. The depth of flavor in the red chile is wonderful. The Sonoran enchiladas were exquisite. But the best is a carne seca taco. The stuff that dreams are made of.

  • *****

I just recently discovered this place from my former boyfriend. He recommended it and my sister and I go all the time now. They have a really good margarita which is always nice after a long work day.

I usually get the enchiladas, and being that the portions are large I save some for later. The atmosphere is nice, small and open seating. There's a no fuss staff who are quick and responsive.

Definitely try the cheese crisps when you go and make sure to get the bean and cheese burrito at some point, one of the best I have had. I do love the quesadillas too, really really good.

  • *****

In Tucson to visit some friends and I asked them to take me to their favorite Mexican food spot. I'm glad I have foodie friends, their choice was amazing!
I had the chili relleno and shredded beef taco combo and it was great! The chili relleno was a battered and fried anaheim green chili (which is the only way to have a relleno, IMO) and was very tasty and not too spicy. The shredded beef tacos were great as well plus the rice and beans were some of the best I've had in a long awhile. The salsa and chips were also amazing, you can tell the salsa is home made.
I will stop by and eat again when I'm back visiting my friends.

  • *****

BEST Mexican food, big portions, fast service, and great prices. What else do you need. It's our favorite spot for date night.

  • *****

Hands down our favorite Mexican food place for 20 years. A hole in the wall with great, authentic food. Best salsa in town, but very garlicky (just a heads up.)

  • *****

This place probably deserves 5 stars but we were greeted, or not greeted by the guy at the register when we arrived and he rudley pointed to seats. Other than that the food was so good! We arrived sort of early last Sunday and there were very few customers there. There were three of us, myself, my friend and my little 10 year old cousin. I ordered a combination#2 I believe it was, my cousin the green chicken enchiladas and my friend had shredded beef tostadas. My combination had a Bean tostada, red cheese enchilada, and shredded beef taco. The beef was a little dry but everything else was so good! Very authentic. I took a few bites of the green enchiladas and those were probably better than my combo! So tasty and so much cheese. The food also came out quickly. Chips and salsa were plenty and kept coming which I like. Highly recommend this place!

  • *****

Best salsa and Sonora Mexican food in town owned by a local family. We tried many Mexican restraints and we keep going back to rosas for authentic Mexican in Tucson. Their cheese crispy appetizer is delish and their salsa is best in town. Very flavorful authentic Mexican food. The Mexican food place for us for over 15 years.

  • *****

One of my favorite places to go for a meal. Food tastes amazing, fresh ingredients and you can't beat the cost. Sometimes I have to wait but it's well worth it.

  • *****

I give this 4 stars (should be 4 1/2) but I think it is possibly the best Mexican food in town. We have come here often for years even though it is a drive for us as we live on the far north side. Through the years the quality has remained steadily great. The chips & salsa served immediately after seating is the best, even getting "Best Sausa in Tucson" a few years ago. Actually, everything is delicious here in my opinion. We love just love it.! Prices have been gradually sneaking up, yet that's true everywhere else.

  • *****

We thought we'd give Rosa's another try. Our last experience really put us off. Needless to say, they are again my #1 Mexican restaurant. Service has improved (new fresh faces, better attitudes, better customer service) the improvement in staff is great. And the food taste better. Try it it's good, food, reasonable prices.

  • *****

The food was excellent very good very very hot . The service was great too I would return and recommend this place

  • *****

The vibe in here is so classic!!!! I went here with my family and we all enjoyed the food a lot. I got a combination plate, my sister carne asada tacos, and my parents both shrimp fajitas. The shrimp was BOMB. My sister also got a carne asada bean and cheese burrito to go and holy cow it was DELICIOUS as a leftover. Great dinner spot in Tucson.

  • *****

I have been coming to Rosa's for years, and it's in my top three best Mexican restaurants in Tucson. I often suggest it to my clients.

It's one of those places where the food is SO good that you sacrifice your expectations a bit on service. It's family owned and operated so it really matters who is working at the time.

I remember when there were no substitutions allowed, and drink refills weren't free either. What has never changed is the salsa - my god it's so good!

Lately it's been hit or miss on the chips - sometimes they're good and fresh, other times they are stale.

  • *****

An expanding Mexican restaurant with a family-run feel. All of the food is yummy (especially the carne seca) and the service is excellent. I came here with many large groups and was never disappointed.

  • *****

Good food, close to me. One of the better Mexican restaurants in its area. Nothing of important note other than good food.

  • *****

    angelina's special

    and limeade,

    please!!

my family still raves about this place 3 years later!!!

  • *****

What a great restaurant. This place is great for families and large groups and makes wonderful food to boot. Come here and get great service every time! Prices are on par and food is excellent!

  • *****

Rosa's rules. They don't make you pay for chips and salsa, that's silly. Although, I would pay for their chips and salsa. So I guess it isn't that silly. You can buy it in pints or some other measurement then you can enjoy it at your house on your fat ass. Plus, ZZ Top ate there and if it is good enough for Billy, Dusty and Frank, it's good enough for you and me. Get the chile rellenos.

  • *****

This is the finest Mexican food on the planet. I love the chips and salsa, which I unfailingly get two or three baskets of with my party. I love the Limeade, which is something that out east, nobody knows about. But most of all, it's the killer enchiladas and burritos that make Rosa's one of my favorite restaurants in America.

I can never decide what's better... the red or green sauce. I've got to get back out here soon.

  • *****

Whenever I get a chance to go to Tucson, I make a point to stop by Rosa's. It is my favorite. Mm. You cannot go wrong with Green Chile con Carne as a burrito and make sure to ask for either enchilada style or Ortega style. A nice margarita goes great with your meal!

  • *****

When I lived in Tucson, I frequented Rosa's and was treated like a guest of honor. Chicken enchiladas burrito was awsome as was everything else I tried. My water was always full!!! El Charro's food was all talk and the service seemed too content to try hard. Rosa's is more convenient and better.

  • *****

The best Mexican food I have ever had. The two things I miss most about Tucson are UA Basketball and Rosa's. The carne asada tacos are what makes it so great. Their salsa and cheese crisp are also very good.

  • *****

I went on a Friday night and the veggie chimichanga was sooo good. My date had the veggie tacos which were okay. Not too shabby... but he even loved the Chimichanga. It's huge... and more than ample to stuff your stomach.

I went again with my sister who came from out of town. She heard about it all the way in Michigan from her boss. That shows this place is great.

It can be a little slow to pay for your bill, but the cute abuelita owner (Rosa ofcourse!!) is just tooo cute that you cant even get mad.

Their chips and salsa are good. Salsa is soo sooo good. It could be a bit spicier, but I guess they make it to suit most Tucsonan palates (not spicy at alll). I think it's a bad idea that you have to pay for a refill of the chips +salsa :( shux!

Definately going again and again.... and again.

  • *****

I've searched high and low for a place that can compare to Rosa's! It is the best Mexican Food in the world. It is family owned, and many of the dishes are named after the family. A great place, always packed. But worth the wait! Please go here. I dream about Rosa's, and wish I lived in Tucson. GO CATS!

  • *****

Another off the beaten path, locally owned restaurant that delivers a fine product.....Rosa's is a winner.
Great shredded beef tacos, and melt in your mouth cheese enchidadas......as good as I've had in Tucson.
The owners are right there making sure everything is going smoothly....a great local spot.

  • *****

The beans alone here are enough to die for. Probably the best Americanized Mexican food there is, but lacks the historic atmosphere of the downtown El Charro.

But I still probably came here more then any other Mexican restaurant in my Tucson days despite its bizarre everyone-pitch-in service that can string out a meal uncomfortably long.

Every piece of the meals here are perfect. It's just a shame they can't find a better, more interesting and comfortable location. And start selling margaritas by the pitcher for crying out loud.

  • *****

This is THE place for no-nonsense, authentic Mexican food in Tucson!

Along with the original El Charro Cafe, I take out-of-towners who have never experienced real Mexican food to Rosa's. The chips and salsa are *hands down* the best I've ever tasted. The burritos and chimichangas are outta sight. Cheap prices and authentic, friendly wait staff make Rosa's my favorite Mexican joint in T-ville.

  • *****

I am a fiend for the guacamole tacos! Rosa's salsa is the best around. Together they are a powerful and delicious combo!

  • *****

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best Mexican restaurant in the US.

I live in SF and have mex food daily, but still think of how my mouth waters for Rosa's margaritas.... the homemade salsa.... the enchiladas.....

I think I came here every Sunday night for 2 straight years. If I hadn't moved out of Tucson... it could have continued!!

Did I mention they INVENTED CHIMICHANGAS?!?!?!?

Oh Rosa... I can't wait until the day we meet again....

  • *****

Delicious! I always get tamales but my friends have ordered chimichangas and loved it. As per the other reviews, the avocado enchiladas are another fav of my friend circle. Also, the salsa is great!

I haven't been here for brunch for about 3 years but remember loving it. Probably going to try that again soon..

  • *****

ok, i had to write this. even though i've been doling out a few too many of the coveted "cinco estrellas" lately... this guy "Pierre Trudeau" really pissed in my lime-aid.

his review must have overlooked the fact Rosa opened this restaurant in 1970 on speedway and campbell. (about two years after trudeau first took office) he certainly didn't notice Rosa herself shows up almost every night, decked out and looking great for her 60+ years.

this guy is a chanuk living in phoenix, and i certainly wouldn't trust his review further than i could throw a dehydrated moose.

go to Rosa's, figure it out for yourself. you call it "gimmicky"? did you see what Rosa is wearing tonight? this is ALL HER!!! you really expect me to believe this is a "tourist trap" when they have been a MEXICAN restaurant in TUCSON (in a strip mall!?!?) for almost 40 years? get real.

but please, for a native tucson who has been coming here since 1984, order the machaca beef (aka carne seca) for me.

i dream about it every single night....

Carne Asada Chimichanga for me, Gary's Special for the Beautiful Brunette.

Preceded by delicious homemade chips and salsa and three Bohemia beers.

The Gary's Special was so good, the BB picked a hair out and seamlessly kept eating. Hey, it happens.

Great food, great service, REASONABLY PRICED.

I feel bad for the guy across the street grilling meat attempting to hijack Roas's customers to his Carniceria.

The first thing I was told upon arriving to Tucson?

    ROSA'S.

Apparently I *had* to come here, and we were going to go at least four times during my stay (it didn't happen, by the way). Day one came and passed without tasting this legendary goodness. Day two came, and nearly passed, until I practically begged my starving friend to stop and get us some grub here. We called ahead, with the intention of taking it home to eat (and I guess the wait is uberously long), but when we got there, decided to sort of just sit down and eat at the tables before going to a show at Club Congress.

Add chips and salsa and a Negra Modelo to the mix and we were set.

Since I was already slightly tipsy, the heat of the Chili Colorado didn't quite set in until I had consumed half of my burrito. Then my mouth started to burn. It was okay, though, because it was pretty durn tasty! Perfect in size, with lots of meat, forgoing the rice, and cutting right to the chase.

The salsa was also quite stupendous, like so many others have already mentioned. However, I was definitely proclaimed the wimp because I can't handle my heat very well.

My only sort-of gripe is that our bill for a few burros and cervezas was almost $60. I'm easily offended, but this just didn't seem right...we got burritos, not platters!

BUT...I would absolutely, definitely, totally come back for more of that Chili Colorado. Nom!!

I should preface this by saying that I am usually not a big fan of mexican food because few places actually make quality mexican food in my opinion.

My wonderful friend Maria took us here for lunch and I must say that their carne seca chimichanga enchilada style and carne seca tacos are unbelievable, so you should definitely try this if you're not sure what to get. The salsa is made with extra garlic and definitely lives up to its reputation. We finished with flan, which was a bit dense for my taste, but still very good. if you think good mexican food should be oil-free or that rosas' salsa is "gimmicky," you should reassess your standards for mexican food.

Rosas deserves the reputation it has and a definite stop if you are ever in Tuscon.

In all the years I lived in Tucson, I found no better place for Mexican food than Rosa's. They have a great selection and I have never left hungry or unsatisfied.

The seating is cramped and they are almost always very busy so plan for a bit of a wait. The decoration is standard Mexican restaurant theme but authentic, not tacky.

This is the place we always took our out of town visitors for Mexican food.

Also, as one of the other reviewers mentioned, they do not split checks and they are not really into doing substitutions.

  • *****

Colin is right about how everyone has their favorite mexican food place in Tucson. This is not my favorite place, to be honest, I'd be hard pressed to name my actual favorite. I do think they serve good food here.

The chips and salsa were fantastic and the service was really friendly. We've moved recently and this is the best mexican food place in our area so we'll certainly go back and we won't feel like we are missing much.

  • *****

I have always loved Rosa's. Say what you want about the grease, about the americanization. If you want genuine Mexican food, go to Mexico. I have the #15 Red Beef, Enchilada Style with a margarita on the rocks everytime and it NEVER disappoints. The Rice and Beans are heavenly, the Salsa and Chips are ridiculous. I can never decide what my favorite part of the meal is, the salsa, the rice and beans, or the chimi.

How it ranks against Mi Nidito's? Same ranking IMO, but it's just a different style. I think both are excellent in their own right.

  • *****

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurants in Tucson! I would break down the ratings for this restaurant like this:

Food - 5 stars (amazing food, especially the chile rellenos and the tamales)
Tortillas - 4 stars (decent tortillas, nothing special)
Salsa - 4.5 stars (only Guadalaraja Grill has better)
Seating - 3 stars (it is always busy and there is often a 30+ minute wait. There aren't many tables for large groups either)
    Service - 4 stars

Judging from all of the pictures of Willie Nelson in the restaurant, I would say this is probably one of his favorites in town and really, what better recommendation could you get??

  • *****

Rosa's rocks... If you are in town and this place is within a 45 min drive, you better get your butt in here from some of the best mexican food you will ever consume.

Be sure to order the chile relleno and the shredded beef tacos... You will not be disappointed. I ordered the Gary's special with a taco on the side and gobbled up everything on my plate.

Service was as you might expect for a family run restaurant... warm and friendly. I met Rosita and family and they all were very happy to hear that I found them on Yelp!

The next chance I get, I'm going back for another Gary's special... It just might be tomorrow. :-)

The best chips and salsa in town. Very good refried beans and flautas. Delicious avocado enchilada. The soup is like something from a great cook's house. Very homemade and flavor full, especially the cocido. Superb almendrado . They sell the salsa to go. Just bring in a mason jar. Ice tea and coffee are must haves at Rosa's..

  • *****

Dear Rosa's chicken enchiladas, I am coming into town to eat you soon. It will be glorious.

  • *****

AWESOME!!!! My wife and I were visiting Tucson as she is a U of A alum. I've heard about Rosa's for years and I was skeptical. First night we got there we stopped by Rosa's.... it was amazing.... staff is very friendly! The chile relleno is incredible. The carne seca is to die for... the salsa is awesome too! Anyway, I loved it so much we went back again our final night in Tucson... thanks to Jesus.... he is very friendly. I can't wait until we get to go back to Rosa's again!

  • *****

Salsa fantastic! Carne Asada so so... Margaritas not bad... Wife loves the place, I'm not totally sold on the place. Still looking for the ultimate authentic Mexican food restaurant.

  • *****

As far as I'm concerned, Rosa's has some of the best Mexican food in town! Literally, the best chips and salsa I've ever had. All the combo plates are amazing. My fave is the beef taco, enchilada, and a tamale with rice and beans. So many other good items as well, don't mill out on the chile' rellenano either.

Fun atmosphere, reasonable prices. Eat here it's money in the bank!

  • *****

When I think of "good Mexican food", I think Rosa's. After moving to Chicago (or pretty much anywhere outside of Tucson), I've realized that it is virtually impossible to find any place that comes close to the quality of Rosa's. When I want Mexican food, I want a large menu with tons of options, combination plates, and everything covered with lots of melted cheese. And Rosa's gets the job done every single time.

I am immediately won over at the beginning of each dinning experience with the perfect bowl of chips and salsa. The chips are warm, a little greasy (in a good way), and very salty...and they are magical with the homemade salsa. My go-to meal here are the enchiladas, I order them every time because if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I can't pick a favorite between my top three (chicken, avocado, cheese) but I will say that I've never seen an avocado enchilada on a menu anywhere else. They come covered in cheese and share the plate with yummy beans and rice.

Most people would be deterred that this place is part of a strip mall, but they are quickly converted after they walk inside, see the impressive murals, eat the amazing food, and get great customer service from each member of the staff. And if you leave here still hungry...it's your own damn fault.

  • *****

Best food in Tucson. We visit there at least 2 times a month. We get the Georges and Carne Seca Burro Ortega style. We usually get a pint of Salsa to go as well!

  • *****

You will love Rosa's if you love garlic! Everything that I have tried at Rosa's must be cooked with a ton of garlic because ohh man I can taste it! Not to mention, I get the "garlic breath" situation in the next morning and it stays with me all day. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE garlic fan. :)

Rosa's is great, fresh, and delicious. The salsa is FANTASTIC, and I am a huge salsa snob..so Rosa's salsa passed my test. Chips are delish..I think they are homemade?

I usually get enchilades and typically at any other restaurant you get 2 enchiladas, but at Rosas's you get 3. Love that. I have also tried the carne asada chimichanga, probably one of the best I have had. The meat is so perfectly seasoned and cooked...not too dry.

The price is like any other Mexican restaurant. It's not Nico's cheap, but it's not Cafe Poca Cosa expensive. The place is always packed, but the wait is worth it. My boyfriend and I don't like to wait, so we usually order for pick up.

  • *****

i love you rosa's. you make my heart skip a beat. stop these morons from the east coast that would rather pay $30 for an en tray to make themselves feel they are getting an authentic experience. the name rosa makes me taste buds tingle. mmmm...

  • *****

I make trips to Tucson to visit family and I can tell you this one stop we always make. This family run and the food is always good and the plates are large. You eat lunch hear and you can skip dinner.

Place is in the back of a little strip mall so it can be a bit tough to find your first time.

  • *****

Over the weekend my husband and I went with our friends down to Tucson for the weekend. Our friend Mark, took us to this little restaurant and I was amazed at how good the food was. The service was great. Everything was reasonably priced and I can't wait to go back down there again just for the food. If you haven't tried this place you really need to.

  • *****

Rosa's is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Tucson and the place that I always take visitors from out of town who are in for just one night. Over the course of literally dozens of meals at Rosa's, I've only tried a small handful of dishes myself - I just keep coming back for the same ones! Guests are often more adventerous and always like their meals.

The chips and salsa are amazing, although the salsa can range in spiciness from mild to medium-hot depending on the day. You can also purchase a pint of the salsa to go.

My favorite entrees are the Angie's (bean burro with green chiles and avocado inside, red sauce and cheese outside, with a side of rice) or the Gary's (a plate of three vegetarian items with rice and beans). The chimichanga with green sauce is also excellent. Margaritas on the rocks and beer are my drinks of choice, but the homemade limeade is a must-try. I've only found room for dessert once, and on that occasion, the sopapillas were delicious.

Service can vary from good to very good.

  • *****

Rosa's offers generous portions of authentic Mexican food. This place specializes in the hearty dishes that the hardscrabble inhabitants of the Sonoran Desert have been consuming for years. The place is always packed, but there is never too long of a wait, The service can be curt, but it more apt to describe it as efficient. Two dishes are particularly tasty, the avocado enchiladas and the chile rellenos. The spicy enchilada sauce works well with the creamy avocado, and the chile rellenos are bathed in the aforementioned enchilada sauce, adding a good amount of heat and sweetness.

  • *****

I absolutely love this restaurant. My boyfriend and I go here about once a week when we get the chance. The food is delicious as well as reasonably priced and the staff is really friendly. The service is also quick. I don't think we've ever had to wait more than 15 minutes for our food to come to the table. If you live in Tucson or ever come visit, this place is a must!

  • *****

If you don't like cheese, don't come here. If you don't like grease, don't come here. If you don't like salt, don't come here.

If you're a chubby kid like me who likes all three, get thee to Rosa's!

The chips are warm and salty, which is nice change from lots of places that don't seem to salt their chips at all. The salsa is fab.

Entrees are usually covered in enchilada sauce and gooey cheese. I've had good luck with Angelina's special, the enchiladas, and their chicken tacos (with homemade crispy shell).

It's a super casual place, you pay at the counter and the service can be random at times. I'm usually the only Mexican person in the place (other than the staff) - some people would take that as a sign that the place isn't "authentic". Rosa's isn't really, but that doesn't make it a bad thing - it's still delish in it's own Americanized way.

My main complaint? I wish the prices were a bit cheaper. Seems a smidge pricey for what you get.

  • *****

Rosa's, I would agree with the review below on the cheese as there is no shortage and while that may not be "authentic" Mexican food - it's the kind many of us know and enjoy! Very tasty selections (thou the Chile Verde is a little...odd), the chips and salsa were also very good. Be prepared to wait as this place seems very popular and I could see having to wait on a weekend night for a table, but worth it!

  • *****

Flan best I've had in my life. I grew up in Fresno, CA, so no Mexican food compares......but for around Tucson, its as good as any other. I'd come back for the flan alone!!!

  • *****

It's been a while since we've visited Rosa's and we have now added it to our "keeper" list and will definitely not let so much time slip by before visiting again.
I had "Gary's Lunch" which was a cheese-avacado enchilada, green tamale, and chili relleno along with beans and rice. Very tasty and very generous servings and I mean to say, it was really piping hot!!!
My partner had bean tacos and thought they were very good.
The salsa! Oh, my. It was really good and had a unique taste of garlic, fresh tomatoes, and cilantro. One of the best tasting salsas we've had in a long time. Chips were warm and abundant.
A nice bright and colorful setting with friendly and fast service.

  • *****

    First two disclaimers:
    1. I had dinner at Rosa's after a long day of mountain hiking, desperately ravenous.
    2. I live in NYC, where you'd have to break into someone's apartment to find carne seca.
So... perhaps I am easily impressed. That said, Rosa's is wonderful. If you have very strong opinions about authenticity, perhaps you will leave with your nose still in the air, but this east coast kid would be honored to come here every week. The staff is friendly, helpful and I felt well-taken care of throughout the evening. Chips and salsa came out about 20 seconds after I sat down and were promptly joined by guacamole at my request. The cheese-crisp appetizer is transcendent. The most striking thing, though, is the attention to detail. Simple stuff like re-fried beans are consistently done excellently. Go check it out... it is good.

  • *****

Quite possibly the best Mexican food restaurant ever and great salsa! Their tables suck, they are wobbly and awkward but the food is always great.

  • *****

A good little Tucson Mexican restaurant. I had the carne seca plate, with rice, beans and a fresh tortilla. The rice and beans were okay, the tortilla was fantastic and the carne seca was pretty good. I thought it was shredded a little too fine for my taste. The margaritas are not good at all, get a beer instead.

  • *****

Shredded beef tacos were very moist and tasty. Just like mi abuelita's tacos from long ago.

  • *****

There is a reason that Willie Nelson goes here when he's in town...because Rosa's is the best Mexican food around!

  • *****

My favorite place for Mexican food in Tucson. Outrageously good salsa, sumptuous chile rellenos, prompt service and a clean and friendly atmosphere. You may have to wait if you go with a larger party or arrive during the peak of dinner hour but it is worth the wait!

  • *****

Best local style mexican on the North side of town!

  • *****

Even though they love to pawn off their shots of tequila (and charge your bill), we love Rosa's for their homemade style chicken taco. They have nice salsa and never ending crispy, light chips. Quirky mexico-esque pueblo tile-topped tables and murals on the wall make Rosa's a #1 pick for casual family lunch or dinner night out. Also, great for "bro-chillin" because mexican beers always a fresh 4.50/ each...

  • *****

Oh man. This is my go to Mexican joint.

I am a huge fan of the chili relleno, and this place has some of the best. Love the decor, the divey location (although as Mexican restaurants go, it could be seen as upscale) the family aspect, the history-check out the photos of Willy on the wall.

    Long live the cheese.

  • *****

Best cheese enchilada plate in the old pueblo. Decent prices and good service. If you want a great mexican meal Rosa's is the place to go.

  • *****

Rosa's has the best salsa in Tucson, The restaurant can be very crowded and noisy on the weekend but I guess that means lots of people like it!

  • *****

Its was above your average Mexican joint.
Yet..still a bit disappointed. No authentic Mexican Cheese. No mole. No kids menu. Weak Margaritas.

  • *****

I'm pretty shocked to see that this place has less than 4 stars. The portions are good sized (big enough that I shared a plate and was still full) and the service was great. Maybe we went on a slow night and there was more attention to detail, but I had no complaints about our experience.

Ordered George's plate which came with a tostada, chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and rice, for only $11 and like I said it was big enough for two people to share. $22 total with a $6 tip isn't bad for dinner. Money well spent and will definitely be back.

I'm giving it 5 stars to make up for the 1 star reviews, no possible way this place deserves a one star

  • *****

How can this place have less than four stars???????

The wife and I are Tucson natives and we both love Rosa's. Staff is always warm and friendly, the chips and salsa are awesome, and they have arguably the best margarita in town. I either get the combo with the beef tamale, cheese enchilada and shredded beef taco; or the chili con carne. One of the better Mexican restaurants away from the southside/westside/south tucson.

  • *****

I'm very picky on mexican food but this place is AMAZING! The salsa has a bit of a bite to it mmm. The cheese crisp is very cheesy but if you like alot of cheese I highly recommend ordering it. The cheese crisp was $9.00 unfortunately. The interior of the restaurant is full of paintings and next to the register are beautiful calendars of Rosa. Service is so-so on a Sunday night. They do push for tequila shots which I found great ha. Who offer's tequila every single time. This restaurant is one of those great holes in the wall. One draw back is they do not split checks so if you go with a large group of people they won't split it.

  • *****

I believe that a Mexican restaurant is only as good as its salsa, and this place has one of the best. It has a nice kick to it and is very flavorful and garlicy. The chips are light and crispy, so that makes a great combination. I ordered a burrito with avocado, green chilies and beans, enchilada style, and it was amazing! The service was ever-so-slightly pushy, but still friendly. I live walking distance from this place, and I'm just sad I hadn't tried it sooner!

  • *****

Hello from Boston ,, Every year we come to visit family our first stop is Rosa's the food is excellent ,,, In Boston, Ma we do not have good mexican food or the style that I like in the Tuscon restaurants.. When we go I get the Green Chile Enchiladas and the CHile Relenos nobody does it better than rosa's

  • *****

This place is pretty superb. Everything is absolutely smothered in cheese, and I am not exaggerating. Keep this is mind whilst ordering if you aren't big on cheese, otherwise sit back and enjoy as I do. The salsa is yummy, great texture and quite spicy. Never had anything I didn't like.
The service is average, they won't make small talk or ask how you're doing in a super phony way (which I, for one, appreciate). Though the chitchat is minimal, my order has always been correct and memorable. Definitely a spot I'd take visitors from out of town.

  • *****

This is where I go for Mexican food when I'm in town. Never had a bad meal or poor service. Wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

  • *****

Rosa's is one of my absolute favorite GO TO mexican food restaurants in Tucson. I used to live a few blocks from this place and enjoyed it often! Food is always super good and Hot!
Service has never been lacking here, its a family owned restaurant. They are always right on with drink refills, chips and salsa, and ready to take your order when you are.
This place DOES get busy on week nights- so come in early or wait and come in a little later.
Salsa is great, and I love their margaritas!

Chicken Enchilada's are my favorite and we can't come in without ordering a cheese crisp with green peppers.

I love Rosa's, had to make a special trip the last time I was in Tucson to bring my boyfriend in- we both left there so full and satisfied we needed a nap desperately- but had to make the drive back up to the Phoenix Metro.

    One of my Tucson Favs!!!

  • *****

I was amazed at the quality and deliciousness of the food here! We ordered a cheese crisp and it came out just like they used to before folks thought they should be soft! It was crispy and covered all over with green chilies (not just a couple). Then I had to try the carne seca, so I ordered a taco...OMG! It was spectacular! there is a certain sweetness to the meat that sent it over the moon for me and the shredded beef taco nearly melted in my mouth!
Please go to this little place in the corner of the strip mall. You'll be glad you did!

  • *****

Rosa's is really one of my favorite Mexican joints in Tucson! The food is great, but sometimes the chips can be stale (but that's not a big deal). The decor is totally great, I'm a huge fan of murals! Their red sauce is incredible, and you should smother it on everything you buy! The only caveat is everything is very garlic-y! I loooove garlic, but I know that's not everyone's cup of tea.

I will also say that I write this review having eaten in there 4 times, and got take-out twice. I have never had alcohol here, so don't know how their margaritas are!

  • *****

Get the enchiladas! You won't be disappointed. When I'm craving Mexican food this is my go-to spot.

  • *****

We went to Rosa's for lunch today and were very happy about the food. The chips and salsa were a great start to the meal. The chips we very fresh and the salsa had both a great heat and smokiness to it.
I ordered the avocado enchilada, which tasted great. There were large chunks of avocado and it was smothered in a delicious enchilada sauce. The enchilada sauce was one of my favorite things about the meal.

I also ordered a beef tamale which was good, but could have been a tamale from any number of other locations.

My daughter had the chicken enchiladas with an egg on top. The chunks of chicken were large and the sauce ally made these enchiladas work.

The decode in the restaurant was unique and pleasing to see. The murals are great. Special credit goes out for the newly remodeled restrooms which were very clean and updated.

The only thing that I did not like was that the restaurant was very picky about any substitutions. It is clearly stated that substitutions cost $2.00 which depending what you are asking for sounds outrageous. When we got our bill we had a $2.00 charge and the only thing we can think of is that my daughter asked for rice no beans. Be careful about what you ask for.

If you are not from the area and are trying to find Rosa's for the first time, know that it is in the back corner of the strip mall in the southwest corner of Campbell and Fort Lowell road.

  • *****

I love Rosas! If I ever have out of town guests that want to try "real" mexican food, I'll take them here. Don't expect anything fancy, just expect good Mexican food and low prices. The chips and salsa are addicting. I usually have trouble stopping myself from getting full from the chips and salsa before my food even arrives! The servers are usually pretty funny and the owner is always around. They have pictures on the wall of famous people who've dined there: that's how you know it's good!

  • *****

Was referred to Rosa's by some locals. Had the chili rellenos and 2 Carne Asada Tacos. Food was excellent and the service was even better. Nice family owned mexican restaurant. Will be back next time I am in town.

  • *****

So. First things first. You have to start with a cheese crisp. It's the best part. I could drink Corona and eat them all night. Tonight was cheese and peppers.

The Mexican food is as good as you will get anywhere and the service is authentic fun and excellent. The waiter heard me telling my friends about the crisp as we sat down and started listing options - reminded me of going to the Varsity in ATL "whadyahave".

You want Mexican in Tucson you must go here

  • *****

If you like home cook styled mexican food you'll love Rosas. Even when packed after a U of A game or on a cool saturday night you'll be served promptly. Located fairly central in town Rosas is a tasty family owned restaurant where you can get a lot of bang for your buck.

This is the Arizona Sonoran comfort food for good report cards and birthdays. I dream about the delicious carne seca tacos and the surprisingly amazing avocado enchiladas covered in garlic-y sauce. Everything is swimming in cheese, and there isn't white-glove service, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

I have been eating at Rosas Restaurant since 2002. the avocado enchiladas are delicious. Service is always friendly and fast. I'm and tried several different items on the menu and have never been disappointed.

A girlfriend and I stopped in before Supper Club last week to find this hidden gem. I can't quite comment on the food because we just had a drinks, but I'd like to say the service was tops!

When we first walked in, we were warmly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We found a spot in the back, and a server quickly came to ask what we wanted. Told him we were just there for drinks, so he gave us a minute and came back with some salsa and chips. The salsa was actually quite good! (We had a couple of servings) I ordered a mango margarita on the rocks and my friend just had a beer. When he brought my drink back, I took a sip. I looked at my girlfriend, and joked with her and said "I don't taste any alcohol". The guy must've heard me and came back and asked if I wanted more alcohol in it. Lol. I laughed and said "ya, why not?", thinking he was going to take my drink and remake it, he left and brought the bottle of tequila back to the table and poured more into my drink. He said "ok tell me when". 10 seconds later...No, just kidding. Haha, I only had him pour just a bit. After that it was perfect! =)

It seemed like this was a popular place, cause as soon as we got there, the place started to fill up. I liked that the servers were very attentive on checking on us, even though they knew we were just there for drinks and the place was getting pretty busy. Next time we'll definitely come by to get some food! They have a huge menu! Loved the decor in there too! Very colorful and inviting!

  • *****

Was greeted by (I think) the owner who opened the door for us and showed us to our seat. This was my first visit and he asked where I was from and welcomed me to Tucson as well as Rosa's. Food and service was wonderful. A hidden gem that you should try before hitting up Taco Bell!

Recommended by my friend Bleep S. Alan and I had an early lunch here today. The restaurant takes up two attached storefronts in a little strip mall. There are lots of colorful Mexican tiles as decorative accents and the tables are topped w/ tiles. The walls are painted warm colors and are decorated w/ lovely pieces of ceramic and other objects. One wall was covered by a charming mural. It's a lovely place. Alan noticed an autographed photo of Willie Nelson on the wall behind me, so we were in good company. The bathroom was clean and had a glass vessel sink, which was an unexpected and elegant touch.

We started w/ chips and salsa. While not made tableside, the salsa was complex and flavorful, w/ a lovely hint of garlic. We both ordered iced tea to drink. We ordered a cheese crisp w/ mild green chiles to start and decided to wait until we'd finished it before ordering anything else, a wise decision as it turns out. Cheese crisps are an Arizona thing. Alan introduced me to them and makes them at home. This one was unlike any I've seen, though: 14" across and served on what looked like a pizza pan. The texture of the tortilla was marvelous, light and crispy and delicate from being fried before the cheese and chiles were added. I must say it was better than any cheese crisp I had ever had. After all that we didn't want much food. I ordered a carne seca taco, carne seca having been recommended by my friend Bob H., who hails from these parts. Alan ordered an avocado enchilada. Both were delicious. All the food here tasted as if it was made w/ love. Service was attentive and friendly. If were lived here we'd be back.

I always get the same thing - carne seca burrito ortega style and it never disappoints! We no longer live in Tucson, but we make sure to come at least once every time we visit.

  • *****

Bean burrito!!!! When I am in town stopping here for an authentic bean burro is a must. The service can be slow (sometimes) but it's worth it. There cheesey greasy cheese crisps are also delicious - if your in the mood for that type of thing. Generally I don't stray from the bean burrito. Beans are flavorful with a touch of spice - mmm!

  • *****

    Muy bueno!
I loved the Rosas platter with a yummy chile relleno and 3 ground beef tacos. The food is fresh & delicious, and the salsa, as everyone agrees, is the best ever!
When I lived in Tucson, this was one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and I love to come here when I visit Tucson.
It's usually busy, which is a good indication of the quality of the food!

  • *****

Went there on a saturday afternoon around 5:30. The restaurant was already packed and some people were already waiting. Luckily, as a small party (of 2), we were seated soon after we put down our names on the list.
Our food took a while to come but it was delicious and the portion was generous.
The server was very attentive - he might not have turned to us to acknowledge our requests, but he surely heard us well and promptly served us what we needed. He was also good at noticing details, bringing us additional chips when noticing our bowl was emptied, and offering a glass with salted rim when our drink didn't come with one.
    We'll be back!

  • *****

I've always enjoyed going to Rosas, they have fast service, have a good variety of the usual favorites and deliver a nice meal for a fair price, what else do you want ? I usually get a combo meal because I'm lazy and it gives me a little variety of the food I've eaten in Tucson for the last 50 years (yes I'm old as dirt). We showed up tonight with a group of 7 got right in, ripped through the chips and salsa, had a couple of tasty orders of guacamole and then enjoyed our meals. Ill go back whenever I'm in the mood for my Mexican fix.

The works cheese crisp blew our minds!! Mango margarita was on point! Salsa was perfectly spicy. Guac was simple & fresh :) Sopaipillas were beautiful & delicious :) Flan had a wonderful taste & our leftovers were farrrrrrr from disappointing!! We will definitely be back.. A+ on our list!

In the past, my favorite Mexican food in Tucson. But it has been dodgy the last few visits. Salsa is always excellent, and in my experience salsa quality is usually an accurate indicator for the rest of the menu. Will I be back? Definitely. But Rosa's has made look foolish recently for proclaiming their food to be delicious, only to underwhelm my guests.

  • *****

Great Mexican food! I've always loved what I have ordered, have never been disappointed. They're normally pretty quick with getting the food to you too. Great margaritas too!

  • *****

I love their enchiladas, chips and salsa. I order the same thing all the time and have never been disappointed. It's always the same consistency and good quality that keeps me coming back. The staff are friendly and prompt. I never have to wait to ask for a refill on chips, salsa, or drinks.

  • *****

This place has some pretty good Mexican food but the servers can be a little better. It is a tight squeeze but the food makes up for it. I have been here by myself in groups and with children and each time has been great

I've been living in Tucson for almost a year now, and I never felt like I was able to find a great hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint up until finding this place.

I found this place thanks to Yelp reviews. I was looking for a place that had authentic Mexican food at a decent price, and boy did I get lucky.

The restaurant itself is hidden away in a shopping plaza. The location itself might not look very appealing on the outside, but once you step in you'll find that it's a cute little restaurant with great little Mexican decorations.

We were seated right away on a Sunday afternoon. Our table was clean and we were given chips and salsa within seconds. As others have mentioned, the cups are huge (which is something that I definitely appreciate) and the salsa is deliciously spicy. I ordered the three cheese enchilada plate with rice and beans. These were by far some of the best enchiladas I have ever had. The red sauce was flavorful and the rice & beans were fantastic.

I'll definitely be coming back to this place. A lot of people seem to complain about the service here, but I didn't run into any issues at all. Sure, they're not the friendliest, but if you just want some authentic Mexican food at a decent price, then this is definitely the place for you.

Rosa's is tucked away in a tiny 4 store strip center just off North Campbell, and very easy to miss. But, it is worth finding.

The family run enterprise is a staple of Tucson, dishing out very good South of the Border plates at reasonable prices. It is one of those few shops I always return to when in town for the gem show extravaganza in late January/early February. There is usually a short wait for a table, as the space is small and a tight squeeze.

The food is decent, if not haute cuisine, and quite tasty and filling. A couple of margaritas or cervesas after a long day looking at hot rocks is the best way to begin the chill down. The service can be erratic, but they make up for it with attitude and good humor.

One of the best things they have is a wall full of calendars for purchase with classic Mexican art the prime selling attraction. I love hanging one on my office wall as a recollection of my time in Tucson, and Rosa's colorful hospitality.

If you are looking for delicious comfort food, then this is the place to go! We were in the area and saw the sign. As we needed to eat and saw a steady stream of people entering, we decided to go without even checking any reviews.

When we first walked in, we had no idea where to go and if we needed to wait for a hostess. The man behind the register (left of the door) waved us to take any table we wanted. After we picked a table, a server promptly came over and asked of we wanted anything to drink. We both ordered ice water and we had our drinks delivered in less than 2 minutes. The chips and salsa had beaten our drinks to the table by less than a minute!

We told our server that we needed a moment to consider the menu and he left us to our own devices as we discussed what we wanted. The menu looks fantastic and is well described. We both had a difficult time choosing our desired dinner, but we finally decided on a shredded beef Chimichanga for me and a Combo 5 (beef tamale, beef taco and a cheese enchilada) for my friend. We also agreed to get a side of sour cream and a side of guacamole.

The sever was back quickly and we placed our orders with him. We sat back after ordering and talked for a while (not long). Our food was quickly brought to the table and I was surprised and pleased to discover that our food was still so hot that we could not dig in without having to blow on each bite to cool it! The sour cream and guacamole also came in large bowls, about 1/3 to 1/2 cup each! At other places, I get a tablespoon and it doesn't even meet the amount I desire.

The servers kept our water glasses topped off and were very nice and took care of us. The food was delicious and filling. The decor was super cute.

If we get another chance to come here while in the Tucson area, you can bet we will be jumping at the chance!

Food is excellent for home style Mexican. Service is ok, but the food makes up for it.

  • *****

Food is awesome, however the service really sucks. Their expressions and interactions with the customer make it seem like you're given them a pleasure of doing business with them! I have gone almost at closing and getting a refill is difficult as hell. The sad thing is the waiters aren't busy, they are just talking to each other not attending to their customers. I like the food, however the service makes me go other places sometimes.

  • *****

I love Rosa's. The food, with the exception of the guacamole, is amazing. Nobody, and I mean nobody (I've lived and traveled all over this country, from LA to NYC), does salsa as well as Rosa's. The chile relleno is perfect as are many of the other authentic Sonoran Mexican dishes they make.

I only have two gripes about Rosa's. One is so big I'd almost give them 3 instead of 4 stars but for their amazing salsa and relleno. It's the service. It's horrible. Some of the time they're friendly and some of the time not. Your server will likely be friendly, but will still neglect your party, not bring you something you've asked for, or there will be complete confusion among the staff as to who is working your table.

The other is the guacamole. It's bad. Tasteless. Not worth the plastic bowl it's served in. I've managed my need for guacamole at Rosa's by asking for lemon and adding the juice and salt to their guac. That made it work. But I recommend just avoiding it.

But the food is awesome. So as long as you don't go there expecting your experience to be warm and cuddly, you'll be satisfied.

  • *****

It's difficult for me to put into a review the feelings I have towards Rosa's. Some of my very first and most vivid memories of childhood occurred here. I've dreamed of living in the landscape portrayed in the mural on the wall of the main dining room. Quite simply, Rosa's IS Mexican food to me. I know, you could get technical and qualify it by saying Sonoran or AZ or Tucson style or or or. That'd be missing the point. Which is that we all have that place, be it Rosas for Mexican or a whole in the wall in Anytown, where at a point where you were more impressionable, food left an indelible imprint on who you are. And how you would look at life.
But if you're there, get the 14 or the Green Chili con carne chimi. Stuffs killer

  • *****

fantastic food at a reasonable price. carne seca tacos were great. servers are friendly and attentive.

  • *****

This place is one of my favorite mexican restaurants to eat at. Their salsa is so good since it's so full of garlic. I think they use some scallions in it too, but I'm not sure. It always has a little bit of kick to it. The chips are typically made fresh and hot.

For an appetizer, their cheese crisp "the works" is the way to go if you have a big group. With an appetizer ordered, I will definitely have leftovers.

Their enchiladas are my favorite, especially the sour cream ones. Don't get me wrong, their other enchiladas are on par, too.

  • *****

Not sure what I could say that others haven't already. Classic Tucson location that serves classic Mexican food. the kind with too much cheese, too much sauce, that all swirls around the food and makes it amazingly tasty! the chicken chimichanga/Ortega style is my favorite. I don't even want to know the calorie count. the sauce has a nice garlicy underscore and blends really nicely with the burro.

and if you want a really decadent treat, try their guac quesadilla. it's dripping with grease and guac - to die for!

their salsa is another standout. it's almost too spicy for me but everyone I go with loves it.

  • *****

First time here, after living in the area for over a year. Wish I woulda stopped there sooner. Good food at a reasonable price, my only complaint is that the carne asada shoulda been hot.

  • *****

Delightful experience with delicious food. The caldo con queso (cheese/green chili/potato)) soup was served up super fast in a big bowl. It was very good! The broth wasn't as hot as I think it should be and cooled off pretty fast but otherwise, so good. Came with a big fat tortilla, and the chips and salsa were so good I had to have an extra bowl. Big glass of strong good ice tea. I will look forward to coming back and trying other menu items out!

  • *****

    Main Points:
-Their salsa is spicy and addicting
    -Good portions, some unique dishes

    Review:
If you're planning to eat dinner at Rosa's you can expect the place to be crowded, because it is a popular restaurant.

I've been going there since my college days, and I've seen the same familiar faces amongst the staff- it's family owned. Though sometimes the service can be a bit slow depending on the crowd, you can expect your food to be tasty and hot when you get it. They have a great variety of items to order, and this is the only place I've enjoyed sour cream enchiladas (there's more to them than sour cream!) I also am a big fan of their salsa, you just have to keep eating it!

Give Rosa's a try, tell 'em Puja C. sent ya! (They'll have no idea who I am, but hey why not?!)

  • *****

Rosa's is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Tucson,AZ. The shredded beef tacos are my favorite. The salsa is best!!! Highly recommend this restaurant.

  • *****

Great family restaurant, loved the cheese crisp with guacamole appetizer, the #5 combo and the Sopapillas! We'll be back for sure!

  • *****

Rosa's has been around for a long time. Their tenure not like some of the others, but they have a loyal following. After talking to some people who are their loyal customers, it was time to check out Rosa's.

First off, it is in the back corner on the southwest side of the shopping center at Campbell and Ft. Lowell. Head to the back of the center to find the building. Second, it was not possible to find the menu online prior to coming to Rosa's. There was one on Menupix but it was outdated. They do not have a functioning website or a operating Facebook page.

That being said, let me talk about why I am giving this place four stars. First, the food. The moment you walk in you can smell magic being made in the kitchen. The chips were warm and crispy and the salsa was fresh and chunky. On the visit I tried a bean chimichanga ortega style (cheese, onions, and green sauce) and the bean chimichanga enchilada style (cheese and red sauce). All I can say is, WOW! The refried beans were very flavorful. Portions are huge and they gladly use canola oil instead of lard!

I also found very little problems with the service. The waiters, busses, and managers my party and I interacted with were very friendly, funny, and attentive. There is a challenge in the restaurant in one of their paintings: to find the turtle. Just ask the manager there for details. The 'little' problem would be the slow start it took for the waiter to get the order. That did not take away from how enjoyable it seemed that the people wanted to work for the restaurant.

The prices are pricer than the average full service Mexican restaurant. Just keep in mind these things: (1) The burritos and chimichangas is what this place is known for. (2) They are more expensive, but you can get ortega or enchilada style at no extra cost. (3) I'm sure their other food is good.

    4 stars for Rosa's!

  • *****

Great food and great service!! Margaritas were amazing! Now my go to Mexican restaurant in Tucson!

  • *****

Good solid place I have come to off and on for years. I was always vegetarian but now mostly eat vegan. They were able to modify menu items to make them vegan friendly. I liked the avocado enchilada. They have good beer and margaritas also.

  • *****

Rosas has some of the best chicken tacos in town. It also has a great atmosphere with mosaic tables and murals on the wall. An excellent place to take a date or to come to from out of town, it can be a little bit pricier than other Mexican food establishments in town because it's an actual sit down style restaurant. The place only looses a star because it often gets so busy that wait times can get a little ridiculous. If it's the weekend, definitely call ahead or make a reservation before you drive down there.

  • *****

Rumor on the Street is that this is Willie Nelson's Favorite restaurant in Tucson. when you hear something like that, you should follow it. Ive been to a lot of hispanic joints but this place is pretty dang good. I loved it. Im a huge enchilada fan and their enchiladas were on point!
Friendly and fast service. I've been to this place three or four times and Ive loved every meal.
    Go! it's a fun time!

  • *****

I think Rosa's is the best Mexican food in Tucson. To start off they have incredibly friendly staff and excellent salsa. I always come back for the chimichanga Ortega style (the type of chimi isn't nearly as important as making sure it's Ortega style, so good). Parking is easy, there's plenty of seating so I've (personally) never had to wait for a seat. I'm not sure how people justify complaining about the cost, it's extremely average pricing for sit-down Mexican food. \_()_/

  • *****

The food here was SO good. We came here last weekend. Honestly, the ONLY reason I am giving 4 stars is because the chips were cold and stale. The salsa was great, the margaritas were good...I got the chili relleno and beef taco and it was out of this world. We will definitely be back! Hopefully next time the chips are fresh!

  • *****

I do not get to come here too often. Prices have gone up. However...enjoyed it! Had Rosita's Speciality: chicken taco, green corn tamale and chicken enchilada with refried beans. Delicious. Oh the tamale was creamy delicious. Could have had at least 3 of them. Anyway...forgot to take a picture...ate it up before remembering. I did love it. Yes you do get chips and salsa. Nice spicy salsa. Yum. Good to remember this place. It has been here a long time.

Lots of parking. Clean bathrooms. Friendly service...not bubbly or vivacious but courteous.

  • *****

Rosa's is probably my favorite restaurant of all time. I have been going here for decades for the wonderful food.

  • *****

This place is amazing! On point every time I've gone there over the last 10 years. Love love love

  • *****

My wife and I went here on a recommendation from my brother-in-law. I'm glad we did because it was one of the better Mexican places we've been to in a while. We went during lunch time so it wasn't too crowded. I ordered a a burrito with chuncks of beef in red sauce, smothered in more red sauce and topped with cheese with beans and rice. The wife ordered cheese enchiladas with green sauce and a chicken taco.
The beef was tender and flavorful. The sauce actually tasted good and you could tell.it wasn't from a can. The beans and rice were amazing. The chips and salsa were excellent. Definitely will be going here again when I am in town.

  • *****

We went here for lunch at about 2:30 and the place was nearly empty. We were quickly seated and given chips and probably the best salsa I've had in a long time! The chips were warm and salted, and the salsa spicy.

I got a margarita which was super yummy, but not too strong for the 7 dollars I paid! I got the chicken burrito with enchilada sauce and my boyfriend got the beef chimichanga. Both were large and two meals worth!

My only qualm is the service was slow after we got our food. When I asked for a box the waitress wasn't too nice. Other than that, this place was pretty darn good! I would go back just for the salsa!

  • *****

Went to rosas two days ago. they fully nailed it. there is some variability over time (been here about 100 times), but when they are on, its the best of this heavy but tasty sonoran style cuisine in tucson. in other words, this yelp average is a bad joke and would mislead anyone seeking the real thing. skip overpriced and over-hyped mediocre crap like el charro (yeah they invented carne seca, but their food is mediocre and overpriced, and a number of spots make better carne seca). and ugh poca cosa (don't get me started).
rosa's works cheese crisp is the best in tucson, which means its the best there is.
great enchiladas (cheese, sour cream, avocado, green chile), very good enchilada sauce, very good rice and beans. excellent soups that come with top shelf flour tortillas. very good rellenos. probably best carne seca in town. tamales are particularly variable, sometimes great, sometimes just ok. very good flan and sopapillas. only mi nidito and la indita rival rosas for this style of mexican in tucson.

  • *****

Love Rosa's. It's delicious. Uh, eat there.
Because it's mad yummy. And chewy. And swallow-y.

  • *****

A wonderful restaurant with very nice servers. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a burro, enchiladas, or chile relleno. There salsa is great to boot.

  • *****

I love Mexican food. Being born and raised in Tucson I'm a little critical of authentic Mexican food! This place definitely has really yummy Mexican food and their margaritas are delicious. Great customer service and staff. You could also tell them to make the salsa spicier if that's what you like!

  • *****

Great food, friendly service. I will return the next time I am in Tucson

  • *****

35th year for gem show and always one time at rosas! Great food nice people.

I got 3 Green Chile Con Carne Enchiladas that I added sour cream to, tasted like it had a bit too much salt but overall was pretty good. Service was fast despite the place being 80 percent full. Would go again.

  • *****

A real treasure tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. Map it out and find it!! You won't regret eating here, and will find reasons to come back...Even if it's out of the way. You can't find anything bad on the menu and the staff is a delight. Very reasonable prices for the amazing quality.

by far the best mexican food in the city outside of south tucson

Red chile chimi enchilada style was awesome and waiter was very curteous!

Prices reflect how good the food Is! It was Simply Perfect!!!

  • *****

Love their green corn tamales, even out of season. Garlicky salsa but good.

Service was surly and the waitress was really a wet blanket. Guess we were an inconvenience to her on an early (4:30) evening mid week. Best when they are busy but mid afternoon this place was a drag. Prices had no discount though so I expect full attention and a good attitude.

Long a favorite but they are on thin ice. If next visit isn't more pleasant we will look for a new favorite.

  • *****

My husband and I went there on 10/01/2016 for dinner. We were so impressed! The chips and salsa was amazing- just the right amount of heat- we couldn't get enough! When we first looked at the menu, the prices were a little more then we expected but when the food got brought out it was a HUGE plate FULL of awesomeness! My hubby had a Carne Asada burrito and he raved on the flavor and said " this is how carne asada should taste- the meat is tender and not too salty" I had Chicken tacos/rice &beans, and I even requested the pan fried flour tortillas instead of the crunchy corn tortillas. The tortillas tasted very authentic as well as the food. The service was excellent and very prompt! We will definitely be back!

  • *****

A true Tucson staple, and a classic. I've always enjoyed all of my food every time I've dined at Rosa's! Good service and a fun, festive atmosphere.

  • *****

The absolute best Mexican food in town. Best salsa, best chili relleno, best carne seca!

  • *****

This place was AMAZING! Best chicken chimi I have ever had. Was covered in green sauce and omg good! Of course I ate it before I remembered to snap a photo. Staff was super friendly. The salsa with the chips was fiery but maybe I'm just a wuss. Highly recommend this place. I will be back for more!

  • *****

Indisputably, our #1 place in Tucson for Mexican food. Best: avocado enchiladas, carne seca tostadas, and their (gi-nor-mous) cheese crisps!

  • *****

Rosa's is the best restaurant in the entire city, perhaps the world. Their rice, beans, and flour tortillas are perfection. Their chips and salsa are to die for. We always take a pint of salsa to go after every meal because it's absolutely delicious, full of fresh garlic and just the right amount of bite. On top of all that, the Frank Franklin murals are a dream and the owners and employees are wonderful! Pick up a Rosa's calendar while you're there!

  • *****

Rosa's is one of my favorite restaurants in Tucson. The staff is always friendly. The food is great. I am a cheese addict and any thing they serve with cheese is awesome. Even their basic stuff like rice, beans, tortillas and chips are really good. They give you 2 different salsa's with the chips... FYI, hot is HOT. They will mix things up and make it the way you like it too, just tell them. My father-in-law can't come to Tucson without stopping at Rosa's at least once.

  • *****

Went based on reviews and were sooo happy we did! Food was amazing! Chile rellenos, best we've ever had! Salsa was yummy and spicy! Only issue was taco plate with crispy shells, shells got soggy and fell apart, so my kid didnt eat them...but they comped them off our ticket when the bill came! Beautiful paintings on the walls, tables and chairs were ok, could use replacing sometime soon. Overall great dinner at Rosas!

  • *****

For the record, this has been one of my favorite sit down places for years. Some menu items are stellar, while some leave a lot to be desired. It's generally crowed, and a bit noisey. The salsa is great, love all the garlic and Mexican Oregano in it. The place has certainly had it's ups and downs over the years, but the past few years have been on the up side.

Went last night for dinner, arrived shortly after 7p, and the place was about half empty in the main dining room. The smaller one to the side wasn't being used, and the lights were off. Hoping that it being empty was a function of summer in Tucson, rather than a statement on service or food quality. Service was bad, actually, pretty awful. Really disappointing, as service is usually very attentive. Water without asking, beers don't run dry without being asked if another is wanted, and following up if something is requested. Hoping that last night was an off night, rather than a reflection of current state. This is the place I like to bring out of towners, so I want to make sure their experience and food is top notch.

Some menu favorites: chili rellenos, avocado enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, potato/cheese soup, carne asada, chicken tacos, beans (which I'm normally really picky about), green corn tamales, and the rice are some long standing favorites.

Things to avoid: carne seca (it's greasy and flavorless). There's better places in town to get carne seca.

  • *****

I have been coming here with my family for at least 15 years. Always great food and service. The red chilli sauce on the enchiladas I could drink, it is just like how my mom made it. This is our go to when in craving mexican food in Tucson.

The food is and always has been great. During my most recent visit the service was a bit off. I know people have bad days, I'll be back.

One of the few places that does home made taco shells, so crispy and so good! The combo plates are loaded with food and the salsa is amazing, one of my favorite spots!

  • *****

I have begged the owner and the brothers to add a second location to no avail. I would drive 150 miles for their salsa and twice that for their chicken tacos. they must have live chickens in the back and butcher them daily. Its the only way I can explain why their chicken is so fresh tasting. I dream of their enchiladas and refried beans. My friend always gets Angie's Specialty and practically licks the plate. We always pick-up a quart of salsa to-go and I use it on everything. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Tucson. I love you Jorge.

  • *****

Great food and great service! They also had really great margaritas.

  • *****

I just finished up a shredded beef chimichanga and it was one of the best I've ever had in Tucson or through Cabo San Lucas. I type this as I finish up the tasty and fresh salsa and sip on a refreshing margarita. The margarita here is simple and all that one needs for accompanying a delicious Mexican dinner. I got my dinner at record speed! The staff is very friendly, and you can see that even when they aren't waiting on you.

Recommended by Fodor's. They were right on! Started with fresh, warm tortilla chips and home made salsa with lots of fresh cilantro. Very spicy but not too hot. We had a shredded beef taco, a cheese enchilada, and a beef tamale. All were excellent. The best thing was the green corn tamale. Wow. This is the best Mexican food that I have tried in Tucson. Prices were reasonable, too.

Great mexican food! Their salsa is delicious but be prepared for some garlic breath afterwards. We love the carne seca tacos or plate. Give it a try!

My son, a Tucson Police Officer, took me to Rosa's one night when I was on a ride along. We met several other officers there for dinner. The staff was great and rushed our orders as they know that quite often police are called away from their meals. The food was fantastic! I love good Mexican food, and I must say, this is some of the best I have eaten in a very long time. The decor can use some updating, the tables and chairs were a little worse for wear, but once you start eating, that all disappears! Yummy!

This is a great family run Mexican restaurant. Rosa oversees the daily operations.\t\nThe food is excellent. The level of custome service and attention is extremely high.

I have lived in AZ all my life. I had a dollar for every Mexican joint I've dined in from Nogales to Page and Yuma to Springerville I could open my own place. I have never had a more delicious chili. The chili relleno is nothing fancy but they use extra garlic to make a melt in your mouth treat. This is typical Sonoran blue plate home cooking. The waiter Chuy was excellent and the beer was served crackling cold as it should. I can't wait to go try some other items!

The food is excellent, especially the chicken chimichanga with guacamole. Crispy on outside, moist and succulent on the inside. The salsa has just enough kick to make it interesting. However, the staff almost seemed like I was a bother to them. No smiles and they asked me questions like it was causing them pain. It was a little busy but they could still act like they wanted my service. Perhaps if you go when it isn't busy the attitudes might be better.

Sometimes TOO busy, but there's a reason. Rosa's serves terrific food, traditional Mexican with their own marvelous salsa and some of their own twists, like the combo plates, including David's Special, which should please all vegetarians with the green corn tamale & avocado enchilada & more. If you're more of a meat lover, their green chile, or carne seca, should satisfy you very well. Terrific for families, and they do very good takeout, but allow 20 to 30 minutes MORE for takeout than they tell you on the phone, particularly if it's at one of their busy times. My one con would be that they don't treat takeout orders with as much speed and kindness as they do dine-in people. But that won't keep me from ordering their terrific food. We live close, and my family's happy when I bring Rosa's in. I'd say: put them on speed dial.

Chips and Salsa are unlimited and fantastic with lots of spice and a great garlicy finish. Chile Relleno's can not be beaten anywhere in Tucson; creamy white enchilada sauce with beans and rice...order with a hot tortilla on the side. Enchilada's are fantastic and always piping hot when served. Casuela Soup as a white board special is a must but serves as an entire meal. Be prepared for a short wait around dinner time. Menudo on weekends and it's great too!
